Playing the country dance circuit in the '90s kept good country bands busy. Both bands played small bars, dance clubs, moose lodges, convention centers, WMZQ events, weddings, family reunions and more from Fredericksburg to Baltimore to Ocean City and every where between. Blackies, Cancun Cantina, Zed's, Spurs, Boots, Laredo's, Red's Hot Country, The Junction, La Fontaine Bleue, Houston's, County Line, Lonesome Dove, and Addy's were many of the spots you could find them churning out two-steps, el paso's, line dances, wooden nickels, and more dance moves whose names they've long since forgotten. |

The name "Donaldsons' Run" is rather appropriate, considering it encapsulates a journey of two people with the last name of Donaldson. Then there is the actual relation between their last name and the geographical name. Donaldson Run is a stream located in Arlington county - an area where Terry's ancestors settled sometime in the 1700s, including Robert Donaldson, for whom the stream is named. Cherrydale, a neighborhood of Arlington, was founded by Terry's great-great-grandfather, Dorsey Donaldson. A house there, built by Terry's grandfather from the scraps of the local pool hall torn down during Prohibition, still remains in the family. |
